About Me:
I have been teaching at American Fork Junior High for five years, and in that time I have taught eight different subjects in three different classrooms. Before coming to AF Jr., I taught for two years at Lehi Jr. High, and in the past seven years I've taught nearly 1500 students. Those students are my favorite part of my job and the reason I keep teaching. I often say that I would teach for free, but you'd have to pay me to grade papers. I come from a family of educators and adventurers, and I try and balance both of those in and out of the classroom. When I'm not in the classroom I can usually found with my husband out camping, hiking, climbing, working on our stubborn house, curled up on the couch reading, traveling, or hanging out with friends and family. I love trying new things (and hairstyles), and past hobbies include skateboarding, crocheting, blogging, tortoise ownership, guitar, and more.
Last school year, we welcomed Ziggy the Bearded Dragon to our classroom. He has enjoyed meeting the students and climbing over their desks, chairs, keyboards, backpacks, and feet. He knows every nook and cranny of our classroom, especially the ones where he can hide or get out of reach. He is an adorable mixture of a small dinosaur and a kitten. He makes a great subject for poetry, short stories, similes, research, and doodles on student papers. |
